Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon?
The name “Saigon” was changed into “Ho Chi Minh City” in 1975 when the Ho Chi Minh Revolution succeeded and Vietnam became one country from North to South. These days large numbers of Vietnamese still call the city “Sai gon” and it is ok to do so as it reminds people about old Saigon – the Pearl of the Far East.
